What does the future hold for this timeless and beloved classic?!

Chrono Trigger recently celebrated its 30th anniversary on March 11th in Japan. Square Enix acknowledged this timeless classic with a celebration post on Twitter. The key message of the celebration informed users that “, they can look forward to various projects that go beyond the world of the game.” This was posted on the Japanese Twitter account of Chrono Trigger.
Here's the translated celebration post from Square Enix:
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of "Chrono Trigger" in 1995. This timeless masterpiece that transcends generations and is still talked about today was born from a dream project by Yuji Horii of "Dragon Quest," Akira Toriyama of "Dragon Ball," and Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of "Final Fantasy." As we mark the 30th anniversary, we will be launching various projects that go beyond the world of the game over the next year to express our gratitude to everyone who has played Chrono Trigger so far. The latest information will be posted on Square Enix Official X and @ChronoTriggerPR, so please look forward to it.”
Square Enix is also kicking off the celebration by hosting a special livestream featuring the music from Chrono Trigger. The stream begins at 7 pm PT and 10 pm ET tonight, March 14, and will last until 4 am PT and 7 am ET tomorrow.
This is exciting news for Chrono Triggers and Square Enix fans. Chrono Trigger is a beloved JRPG classic! Square Enix developing various new projects for the game is amazing.
Currently, we don’t know what types of these projects are. But there has been an enormous wish by fans to have a remake of Chrono Trigger. Some fans want a 2D-HD remake of Chrono Trigger while others want a 3D remake of the game.

Chrono Trigger does not have a port for modern consoles. And it will be amazing if Square Enix put this game on modern consoles. Not only would the game sell millions but more people could play Chrono Trigger too.
The game is on Android, ISO and Steam. But, having the game on the Switch, for instance, would be fantastic. I am making this case for myself too because I would love to play this game on the Switch.
Square Enix stated that these various projects could go beyond the world of the game. What could these mean exactly?! Could it be a sequel? Or an expansion of the original game?
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess. But it is great that Square Enix has some things in store for one of their most successful and beloved video games. And Chrono Trigger and JRPG fans can look forward to Square Enix showing some love for this timeless, beloved classic.
