Spoilers for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth!
Final Fantasy VII has always been an emotional tale. A lot fo characters have a tragic background. Or they have a rough background in general. This makes FFVII's story a humanistic tale. A humanistic tale filled with emotion.
Acting as the second entry of the FFVII Remake Trilogy, Rebirth will be no exception. In fact, Rebirth will make FFVII's story even more emotional and humanistic. This is what Remake did as it lay the groundwork for expansion of FF7's story.
"When the remake project was first decided, we already felt that if we were going to take on this series, it's imperative that we depict the characters much more deeply and go into more depth in approaching them," Nomura says. "Not only Aerith's arc for Rebirth, but even other characters like Dyne, for example, I really wanted to show in a more detailed way for Rebirth. There's a scene where I truly want to cry when I see it." - Game Informer Preview
Barret and Dyne
The one scene that Nomura, Hamaguchi and Kitase wants us to see is the one with Barret and Dyne. Dyne was Barret's best friend when they lived in Corel. Dyne is also the biological father of Marlene.
But why was Dyne unable to care for Marlene? And how did she end up in Barret's care? The answer is Shinra.
Shinra retaliates against Corel due to Avalanche occupying the reactor. The company destroyed the reactor, and Corel was burned to the ground. Barret and Dyne were returning to Corel, however, both men were found by Shinra Soldiers.
Under the orders of the malevolent Scarlet, Shinra soldiers starting shooting at the childhood friends. Dyne fell off the cliff and Barret caught him. Scarlet took matter into her own hand, and she shot both men's arms.
As a grizzly result, Barret lost his lost right arm while Dyne lost his left. Dyne fell to his supposed doom as Barret could no longer hold on to him. Later, Barret goes to search for survivors and found Marlene. Barret left Corel and took Marlene under his care.
Years Later
When Cloud and party reach Corel Prison, they learned that Dyne is still alive. Furthermore, Dyne is now the prison's boss. Dyne also replaced his missing arm with a prosthetic gun of his own.
This all leads to an emotional reunion between Barret and Dyne. In the original game, this one of the most emotional scenes of the game. In Rebirth, we can only imagine how much more emotional this reunion is going to be.
Kitase's Surprise
Kitase was surprised that Dyne's scene made into the final version. He was under the impression that it was cut from the game. As certain scenes of the game were cut. But hearing Nomura and Nojima's opinions about keeping the scene. Kitase decided to keep it.

"I thought certain scenes could be cut, but hearing Nomura-san and Hamaguchi-san's opinions on how they want to keep this, I conceded. But when you see it all come together, the final product and that scene – especially the Dyne scene – I think, 'Wow, this is amazing!' It's crying-worthy. I feel glad it's in there."
My Thoughts
I am glad that Nomura and Nojima persuaded Kitase to keep this scene in the original. And now we have the pleasure of seeing this scene in Rebirth again. While things may play out a bit differently in Rebirth. The scene will be faithful. More importantly, this scene will be more of a tearjerker than the original game.
And that's the only thing we have to look forward to. There is also Red XII's arc in Cosmo Canyon. That another scene I am looking forward to.
Also, Rebirth will expanding other locations like Gonzaga. With all of the scenes we witnessed in “Destined For Rebirth.” Gonzaga’s reactor is going to crazy different and emotional. And that not enough evidence for you. Remember Cloud's scream.
