My Most Hyped Game Awards Announcements

Writer's picture: AfroCloudAfroCloud

This year was loaded with game annoucements

The Game Awards have a lot of game announcements. And I mean a lot. Because there is a sheer number of them. I thought start out with the ones that have me the most hyped and intrigued.

Monster Hunter Wild

Brand new Monster Hunter game is coming to next gen consoles and PC. And this new entry is in the series is called Monster Hunter Wild. This game will kick start the sixth generation of the franchise. Monster Hunter Wild will be released in 2025.

Marvel’s Blade

Marvel and Arkane Studios announced they are partnering up to develop a Blade game. Arkane is the same studio that created Dishonored and Deathloop. The game is described to be "a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris."

All I can say is that I am super hyped for a Blade game. There is any Marvel franchise that deserves a game, it is Blade. In fact, I say it is long overdue. Unfortunately, we will be waiting a while since the development has just started for the game.

Sega’s Next Generation

What I told you was that Sega had an awesome announcement. And it wasn’t Persona or Sonic. Sega has announced that they are bringing back 5 retro games. There games are Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Shinobi.

While I haven’t played the other four besides Shinobi. I am happy these games are in development. Because there is nothing, I like more than retro games getting revived for the modern era. Plus, there games are looking great, especially Shinobi. I loving the 2D animated style of Shinobi.

Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero

There Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi game has title. And it is called Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero. The game had a new trailer focusing on the gameplay of the game. And it looks fantastic.

The animation is fast and clean that it looks you fight as the Dragon Ball fighters in the anime. In addition, the game will have characters like Jiren and Broly. I had fond memories of playing Budokai Tenkaichi. So, I am super stoked to be getting back in the Budokai series.

Kemuri

The lovable, energetic Ikumi Narakumi graced the Game Awards with her presence. And she revealed a teaser her new independent project called Kemuri. Kemuri is the Narakumi’s first project since leaving Tango Gameworks.

The game’s art style is beautiful. The setting for the game is a futuristic Japanese metropolis. The cast is a group of heroes using futuristic tech and weapons to combat strange hidden creatures. Narakumi concluded with the game’s tagline: it's all about "seeing the unseen."

Visions of Mana

Square Enix revealed a new game for the Mana series. This new title is called Visions of Mana. While I loved Square Enix’s flagship series like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. It is refreshing to see that Square Enix is bringing back their retro repertoire of games. Creating new entries and remaking games from their AA games.

I look forward to learning more about Visions of Mana. The game looks gorgeous in its cute anime style. The gameplay involves using the elements to not only combat enemies. But the elements are used for traversal too.

Black Myth: Wukong

Wukong has a release date. The release date is August 20th, 2024. The game will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam and PC. I have been wanting to get my hands on this game for a long time.

It’s unfortunate I will have to battle a giant spider. But Final Fantasy XVI has prepared for this. And I really want to play this game. So that spider is going to have to die. In order for me to play this game.

Tales of Kenzara: Zau

EA Original revealed a brand-new title called Tales of Kenzara: Zau. The game is being developed by Surgent Studios. Unlike EA’s last new IP, Immortals of Aveum, this game looks promising. I am digging the stylish visuals of this 2D side scroller. And I am intrigued that the game will explore the grieving process as explained by the Surgent Studios’ CEO and founder, Abubakar Salim.

Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero is coming out in 2024. miYoHo’s latest game is set release to PC and smartphones. The game will also be coming to consoles in the future.

Zenless Zone Zero is an action RPG set in the post-apocalyptic city known as New Eridu. Most of humanity has been wiped out by creatures known as Ethereals. A group of heroes comprised of a survivors battle against the Ethereals.

Honkai Star Rail: Penacony

miYoHo show another trailer for its other hit game, Honkai Star Rail. The trailer is called Penacony and it was narrated by mysterious new woman. She narrates the Penacony with a pop-up book. As she reaches the end of her narration, she warns that the story won’t be without suffering. And she claims that is one page of the story.

The First Berserker

Lastly, the final game I am most hyped about is The First Berserker: Khazan. I really digging the 3D environments mixed with 2D anime characters. The gameplay looks fast, fluid and bloody in one fell swoop. Since this is the world premiere of this game, I will be keeping my eye on this.

There’s More

I know what you are thinking.  Where is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?! I have already covered FFVII: Rebirth Theme Song trailer in an earlier article. And I have expressed how hyped I am about that game in multiple articles.

Other games I am excited for are Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 3 Reload. These games I feel like need a deeper dive than what I have written for the game I have covered today. And I will be releasing these soon.

This wraps up my most hyped games from the Game Awards. What are you most excited about? Anything intrigue from the game? Leave your comments below.
